What the Plum? eBay Audi R8 Seller Vies for your Attention…

To contact us Click HERE

Hate it or love it, sex sells - even on eBay Motors. Unlike this eBay seller that laid false claims about a young woman posing on a 1977 Datsun 280Z being his daughter for some extra spicy attention, the owner of this black 2008 Audi R8 GT is letting the pictures speak for themselves.

We don't get the opportunity to learn the young woman's name, but we do get to know a little about her preferences in underwear and lingerie, and that she fits comfortably on the R8's door.

As for the car itself, the seller confusingly states it’s an R8 GT (which is the V10 model) in the title but then goes to say it features a supercharged 4.2-liter V8 right below, before we read the description that follows and which says it's powered by a "4.2L 4163CC V8 GAS DOHC Naturally Aspirated". Go figure…

In any case, and excluding the scantily dressed young lady, the R8 is priced at $130,000.

VW Confirms New Scirocco GTS and Beetle Fender Edition for the UK

To contact us Click HERE

The New Year will bring two special edition models to Volkswagen's UK showrooms, the spicier looking Scirocco GTS and the…spicier sounding Beetle Fender, both of which have been presented in these pages as they're already offered in other markets. Both cars will be available for order in the UK on January 2.

We'll begin with the Scirocco GTS that sports a styling kit comprising a pair of stripes running the length of the vehicle, red- or white-colored door mirror caps, unique 18-inch alloy wheels and a panoramic sunroof.

The GTS is offered in these color combos: Candy White with black stripes and red door mirrors, Salsa Red with black stripes and white mirrors, Deep Black Pearl with white stripes and red mirrors, and Indium Grey with black stripes and red mirrors.

Inside, the package adds black leather upholstery with red stitching and an embroidered GTS logo, a golf ball-style gearknob, multifunction steering wheel with GTS logo, floor mats with red piping, GTS sill plates, Piano Black and Black Peak decorative facia inserts and Piano Black door handles.

Buyers can choose from two engines, a 2.0-litre TDI diesel with 175hp (177 PS) or a 2.0-litre TSI petrol 207hp (210PS), both linked to either a six-speed manual or DSG gearbox.

Prices in the UK are set at £27,945 for the TSI manual, £29,345 for the TSI DSG, £27,980 for the TDI manual and £29,395 for the TDI DSG.

Moving on to the Beetle Fender edition, the limited production model is offered exclusively with a 2.0-litre TDI 138hp (140PS) engine coupled to either a six-speed manual or DSG transmission.

You can choose any color you want as long as it's…black, with VW adding a rear spoiler, 18-inch alloy wheels and Fender badges on the wings. The interior of the car sports a dash panel in vibrant ‘Sunburst’ wood and a 400-Watt Fender sound system.

The Beetle Fender is priced at £23,015 (RRP OTR) for the manual model, and £24,610 for the DSG.

New Toyota Furia Sedan Concept Teased Ahead of Detroit Motor Show, Which Model Does it Preview?

To contact us Click HERE

With the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit approaching closer, more and more automakers are opening their cards, though, most of the times, not to the extent we would all like…

Toyota, for example, announced on Thursday that it will host the world premiere of a new study called the Furia through a teaser video and a simple statement saying that it will be an "an exciting new sedan concept".

That's all we get from the Japanese company, so we still don't know if it's a conceptual proposal for a new offering, or a replacement for a current vehicle.

We are aware of the fact that Toyota's future plans include a successor for the Corolla compact sedan and the Prius, plus a new sub-compact offering based on the next generation of the Mazda2 that will be built by Mazda at its plant in Mexico (no word, though, if it's going to be a hatchback, a sedan or something entirely different).

After you take a look at the screenshots and the video, head towards the comments and tell us what you think the Furia is.

Take a Look at this Ferrari Quattroporte Design Concept

To contact us Click HERE

Automotive designer Alex Imnadze, whose name might not ring a bell right away, but you may remember him from one of his concepts for a Lamborghini supercar that we showed you earlier this month, sent us his latest project for a Ferrari super saloon.

Unlike the Lamborghini coupe study, Imnadze's new Ferrari concept has a name; it's called the Quattroporte, though, as you can imagine, this wouldn't sit well with the Fiat Group's other supercar-maker, Maserati…

The Quattroporte study blends in design cues from several current Ferrari models like the FF and the F12berlinetta on a liftback-style body with a dramatically sloping roofline and four doors. The latter, judging by their small footprint, would likely be suicide-style doors.

Imnadze doesn't provide a description for the car, but the proportions and the lack of air vents on the side and the rear panels, point to a front-engine, rear wheel drive configuration.

Interview with HGTV's Chip Wade: How to get your home holiday-disaster-proof!

To contact us Click HERE

"Home for the Holidays" sounds all nice and warm and fuzzy, but when you have a big family, all that togetherness can get a leetle bit suffocating. I come from a family with 5 siblings; 3 of us siblings have a total of 8 kids, so you can imagine what holiday family reunions can be like!  Suddenly you have shoes piled up near the front door, while the garbage disposal and the toilet are working overtime.  The toilet (heaven forbid should it break down!) becomes the the rarest and most prized commodity, second only to finding an inch of space where to put your private stuff!

Today I had the opportunity to pick the brains of contractor and expert craftsman Chip Wade, master carpenter on HGTV's Designed to Sell and host of HGTV's new series Elbow Room.  In my interview, Chip shares some handy tips and space-saving solutions to get your house in holiday shape for guests in no time.  You'll probably be hosting a holiday party or putting up some holiday guests at some point, so click on the video and listen to Chip answering my holiday home questions:

Here's a summary of the notes I took during the interview.  It's not a word-for-word transcript of the interview, but it'll give you a good idea of the topics we covered and Chip's most important tips.

Me: We have a small guest room that's already overflowing with my family's winter coats and old books. Do you have any suggestions for making space for our guest's clothing -- and where to store their gigantic suitcases?

Chip:  I'm a big fan of multi-purpose furniture. The guest bed takes up most of the room's square footage, so turn your bed into a storage unit.  Even just raising the bed can free up a lot of space for storage.  You could put a central divider under the bed, creating 2 big channels to store suitcases.

Me: How can I make sure my kitchen and bathrooms can handle all of the extra use they'll be getting during big get-togethers?Corrente: Model #:C43904-WH

Chip:  With so many guests, you bathroom will be working overtime, so stock up on multiple packs of air freshenter, and don't forget a plunger!  Also make sure you have a functioning quality toilet; if yours is getting old, get a new one before the guests arrive. A great choice is Delta's Corrente toilet,.  They're easy to install, everything in you need comes in the box:  the old toilet removal kit and all hardware, all for less than $200.  One thing that makes the Corrente different from other toilets is that it does not have bolts going through the tank, which are a major cause of toilet leaks.  Also, the water supply hose is connected near the top of the tank, above the water line, which eliminates another major cause of embarrasing and wasteful water leaks.

Me: We don't want to hammer extra nails into walls for our holiday decor, but we like our home to look festive with the season. What are some ways to hang wreaths and garland without marring walls or furniture?

Chip: Great question.  Skip the finishing nails; instead, go to Home Depot and get a pack of command strip hooks.  They will hold quite a bit of weight because they use compression tape, which gets stronger the harder you push on it, but will pull off easily without marring paint on walls.

Me: Where can we find more information and fix-it tips for those last-minute holiday disasters?

Chip: Check out Delta Faucet on Facebook; they have lots of tips!

And there you have it. The holidays are about spending time with family and friends -- opening your home to them shouldn't have to cause any stress, or cramp your holiday spirit!  Just heed Chip's tips and be prepared :) Disclosure: I received a gift card as a thank-you for participating  in this opportunity, courtesy of Delta and the Home Depot.  The views and opinions expressed by my interviewee are his own, while the views and opinions expressed by me are my own.  Tweet this!
